Against The Spread Pick : NY GUARDIANS +8.0 

The NY Guardians are looking to keep their winning streak alive coming off an upset win against the Los Angeles Wildcats. Once again, the Guardians come in as heavy underdogs as they hit the road to take on the Dallas Renegades this weekend. The Quarterback is the key topic for both teams. Kicking off with the Guardians, New York will be without starter Matt McGloin again this weekend, but it seemed to work in their favor a bit as backup quarterback QB Luis Perez was consistent in the win against the Wildcats. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 150 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers. Once again Perez will get the start and should be able to showcase why he is slowly making a name for himself in the XFL. On the flip side, the Renegades will be going with week one starter Phillip Nelson after they saw starting QB Landry Jones go down with a knee injury in week four. Remember Nelson started Week 1 for Dallas and lost 15-9. I’d rather side with Perez here especially with them getting the running game going again as running back Darius Victor ran for 82 yards on 18 carries last week. We really like the points spread here and would take some action on the money line for the Guardians. Back THE NY GUARDIANS against the spread.

Over/Under Pick –  UNDER 37.0 Game Totals

At the start of the season, New York showcased how their defense could be the leading factor in winning ball games. Well, it was slowly exposed as the more mobile QBs in the league torched the Guardians’ defense. However, with the recent QB injury to the Renegades, I do not expect Nelson to walk back into the starter role and drop points on this Guardian’s defense. Nelson barely got nine points during his week one start and in all honesty, I could see the same here. I love this matchup for the Guardians as they chew the clock and shut down the Renegades in week five. Under is the call. Back the UNDER in this one!!
