After one of the most thrilling college football wins in recent memory, Tennessee sports fans have a lot to be excited about. Not only did they defeat Alabama for the first time in 15 years, the Vols are now ranked number three in the nation.

Adding to the enjoyment is the winning bets their fans are surely cashing in on. It’s a good thing that Tennessee sports betting allows in-state NCAA action.

SEC Still The Toughest Conference

The Tennessee Volunteers have established themselves among the best teams in a loaded SEC conference. As things stand, 4 of the nation’s top 7 ranked teams play in this conference. That includes the #1 Georgia Bulldogs, #3 Tennessee, Alabama at #6, and the #7 Ole Miss (Mississippi) Rebels.

Remarkably, the Volunteers opened up the season ranked outside of the top 25. One could argue that before Alabama the Vols had not played much of a schedule in terms of strength. That might have been a valid point until the Volunteers went to Baton Rouge and shellacked the then #25 LSU Tigers 40-13 on the Tigers’ home field.

Next Up For Tennessee

After taking down the Tide, the Vols will meet Tenn-Martin and #19 Kentucky at home before the biggest date on the schedule. After playing three straight home games, Tennessee Vols fans will bid their team farewell as they head off to Athens, Georgia, for a huge game against the #1 Georgia Bulldogs.

There will be a lot on the line for both teams in Georgia. They will be playing for the #1 spot in the SEC Eastern division. Representatives from all of the major bowls will also be on hand to see if the Vols are deserving of a spot in an elite bowl game should they not make the playoffs.

Explosive Offensive Leading the Way

Team efficiency accounts for Tennessee’s rising in the ranks. This is a team that is averaging 551 yards of offense a game without any single player carrying the load.

Leading the offense is QB Hendon Hooker who has thrown for 1,817 yards with 15 TDs and 1 interception. He also has 287 yards rushing and 3 TDS. When he is not behind center, QB Joe Milton III steps in and amazes. In only 15 attempts Milton has completed 12 passes for 225 yards and 3 TDs, again with no interceptions.

As for running backs and wide receivers, the Vols are getting solid, if not great, contributions from multiple players. The efficiency of the offense is reflected in the team’s total turnovers, which currently sit at 7, 6 fumbles lost and 1 interception.

Betting the Vols

Betting the Vols in 2022 has been financially rewarding to date. They are 6-0 on the money line and 5-1 against the spread (ATS). A late touchdown by the Florida Gators with 26 seconds remaining in the game is all that stands between the Vols and perfection ATS.
