Superbowl LIV First Touchdown Market BEST BETS
Although not as popular as the MVP market, the first touchdown market is always one of the most popular pre-game bets. (Check out our best MVP Best Bets HERE). For Super Bowl LIV touchdowns are expected to come early and often. That’s why we’ve crunched the numbers and picked our top 1st Touchdown best for Superbowl 2020..
So who will find the end zone first? Our Boy and resident top tipster, Shawnie T outline his picks below…..
Raheem Mostert, RB, SF 49ers (+600)
Mostert will be a top pick for many after he tore it up during San Francisco’s 37-20 NFC win over Green Bay. Mostert rushed 29 times for 220 yards with 4 scores. Kansas City’s defense finished a mere 26th in the NFL against the run compared to eighth against the pass. In other words I feel Mostert should be able to do some damage and get into that endzone.
Damien Williams, RB, KC Chiefs (+600)
It’s unlikely Williams will win MVP, as Kansas are too much of a passing team. Scoring the first touchdown, however, isn’t out of the question. Williams scored a modest 7 touchdowns in regular season, but six of those came during the last eight weeks. Most noteworthy is the fact that he has delivered four TDs in two playoff appearances. A very good bet @+600.
Travis Kelce, TE, KC Chiefs and Tyreek Hill, WR, KC Chiefs (both +800)
It all depends who will be Mahomes’ go-to on Sunday!! In the divisional round it was Kelce (10 catches, 134 yards, 3 touchdowns); in the AFC Championship it was Hill (5 catches, 68 yards, 2 touchdowns). I get the feeling that this Sunday it will be Kelce but both have good value at +800. I’m backing Kelce on this one.
George Kittle, TE, SF 49ers (+1000)
Kittle has the same odds to score the first touchdown as he does to win MVP. Although he has been a total non-factor in the playoffs since SF have done nothing but run the ball, Kittle caught 85 passes for 1,053 yards and five TDs in 14 regular-season games. You have to think the 49ers will be forced to air it out more on Sunday than they did against Minnesota and Green Bay, so he should have a chance here. A good outside bet.
Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs (+1600)
Mahomes has been good during the regular season, but he has been great in the playoffs—to the extent that is why I can’t see anything else but a Chiefs win this Sunday. If Mahomes performs up to his potential this weekend, he will certainly be the MVP and might just get over for the 1st touchdown. .
