It’s the time of year when betting interest in the NFL is at fever pitch. Divisional playoffs weekend means that Super Bowl LVII is only four weeks away. Savvy sports bettors will already be looking ahead for Big Game bets.

Until two weeks before the big game, most of the betting focus will be on the playoff games themselves. Meanwhile, the futures betting market for the Super Bowl is open. Here are the current odds on the remaining teams, courtesy of Caesars sportsbook:

Kansas City Chiefs +310
Buffalo Bills +350
San Francisco 49ers +380
Philadelphia Eagles +525
Cincinnati Bengals +800
Dallas Cowboys +850
New York Giants +2800
Jacksonville Jaguars +3500

Tip: The San Francisco 49ers, winners of 11 in a row, have that perfect blend of strength on both sides of the ball. This has been a complete football team since the mid-season addition of RB Christian McCaffrey. That +380 looks mighty tempting right now!

Round One of Divisional Playoffs

As one would expect, there are a couple of really good matchups in the first round of the divisional playoffs. The highlight of the weekend comes on Sunday, January 22, 2023, with not one, but two outstanding games.

In the early game, the Buffalo Bills (13-3) will play host to the Cincinnati Bengals (12-4) with the Bills favored at -5.5 and the over/under set at 49. There will be plenty of interest in this game due to the cancelation of the recent Monday night game between these two same teams. The game was hit by the tragic injury of Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin. At the time the game was suspended and eventually canceled, the Bengals were leading 7-3 and driving in the first quarter.

In the second Sunday game, the San Francisco 49ers (13-4) will play host to the Dallas Cowboys (12-5) with the 49ers favored at -4.0 and the over/under set at 46. This will be the seventh time these two teams have met in the NFC playoffs.

At -4, the 49ers look mighty tempting if one can get past how good the Cowboys looked last week against a very hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. The reality is the 49ers are playing great football and look like a legitimate juggernaut against a Cowboys team that has a few question marks.

500+ Super Bowl Prop Bets

By the time the Super Bowl rolls around, there might only be two teams remaining but there will be multiple betting options. You’ll have the point spread, money line, and over/under, not to mention the countless props.  U.S. sports bettors have really fallen in love with Super Bowl proposition bets.

The great appeal of prop bets is they generate interest in all facets of the game. From the coin flip to the last score of the game, there is always something on which bettors can wager. In fact, there will likely be more than 500 prop bets from which to choose.

Our favorite prop bets include position player matchups, point spread ranges, and “first player to score a TD.”

Prop bets work well for occasional and recreational sports bettors who are looking to wager a little for a chance to win a lot.

Without knowing which teams will be participating, it’s difficult to put the spotlight on any specific prop bets. The important thing for casual fans to bet within their bankroll, which should be just enough to have them sitting on the edges of their seats during the biggest game of the year.

The Super Bowl will be played on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Gametime is set at 6:30 ET.
